Reconstruct Bone Chain with Re-rig Tool

General Introduction

Based on the regular Rig Requirements, the character rig need single-bone-chain structure.

However when your character rig is not single bone chain, there is a tool which can rebuild a new bone chain based on your rig and make it compatible with Miarmy system.


Please take a look at the following illustration.

In the left picture below, there is a rig which setup with multiple separated bone chain, and these yellow bone chains bind the human geometry. But these yellow bone chain cannot be used in Miarmy in the regular way because Miarmy need the single-bone-chain system.

Then with our re-rig tool, it can automatically resolve this issue by following steps:

  1. Build a new bone chain (the blue bone chain in the right picture below) based on the original bone chain, it will link all separated parts together.
  2. Constrain the new bone chain onto the original bone chain, so that it can inherit all the animations and transformations
  3. Duplicate all the geometries on which the old bone chain skinned, and skin all duplicated geometries onto new bone chain along with copying skin weights.

Then the new bone chain and new duplicated geometries are satisfy the Rig Requirements, and they can be used to generate the original agent in the next section
