Place node parameters
Name Locker
This is an important feature for preventing OA reorder in place node (especially in reference mode)
By default, our system will choose OA from outliner and list them into placement editor like below image:
Placement Editor use OA in outliner with the sequence of them
And after some setup, we set:
- casual: 52%
- dragon: 28%
- newman: 20%
At this time, suppose we reorder the sequence casual and dragon, and close and reopen the same scene, you will get below results:
- the dragon ratio will be set to 28%
- the casual ratio will be set to 52%
- The placers previous place casual will place out dragon agents
- The placers previous place dragon will place out casual agents
To fix this, we just need to reorder and switch the dragon and casual back to original sequence, and close and reopen the same scene.

In reference mode, we cannot reorder the OA sequence. |
In reference mode, the OA order cannot be changed even if we reopen the scene. It sometimes will cause chaos after we adjust the place node, it change from time to time.
The name locker can help.
When it enable, the sequence of the proportion will be associated with agent type names, and whatever reorder, it won't change the place agents type and ratio.
The placer arrow will turn white if we enable this feature.
